KADAPA: Twenty-nine notified slums in Kadapa Municipal Corporation will be developed under Andhra Pradesh Urban Services Project, Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy said on Tuesday. Addressing a Working Group meeting, he called for expeditious identification of amenities and facilities to be provided in the slums. Surveying officials and civic staff should ensure involvement of local people in decision-making and strive for alleviating poverty, he said. Everyone below the poverty line would benefit under the scheme, he said. Deputy Mayor K. Nabi Rasool, Municipal Commissioner S. Aleem Basha, Municipal Engineer Komaraiah and corporators took part.
Campus placement
Three students of KSRM College of Engineering -- U. Sunil Kumar and A. Swathi (ECE) and Varun Madhusudan (CE) -- were selected by Infosys during the campus placement programme, college Principal K.S.N. Reddy said on Tuesday. Reputed firms such as L&T, Infotech, Vijay Electricals and Secon Surveyors as well as the Indian Army had conducted placement programmes on the engineering college campus so far, he said in a statement.
