KADAPA: Indiramma scheme aimed at providing basic amenities and resolving the individual needs of people will be launched in 16 municipal divisions in Kadapa Municipal Corporation on April 1, Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy said on Tuesday. The scheme would be implemented in three phases and officials would complete a survey of 16 divisions by December 15, he told a press conference. Municipal Division Nos. 1, 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 13, 16, 19, 20, 21, 26, 36, 43, 45, 49 and 50 would be developed in the first phase, he said. The Mayor promised housing, 24-hour drinking water supply, drainage facilities, power connections, link roads, besides sanction of old age, widow, disabled and handloom weaver pensions to people below the poverty line in these divisions. Anganwadi centres would be set up to promote primary education and awareness on HIV/AIDS, he said. Nellore: Thirty one wards in Gudur, Kavali and Venkatagiri Municipalities of Nellore district have been notified under the `Indiramma' scheme announced by the State Government, to develop all wards over a period of three years by saturating them with identified basic infrastructure facilities and welfare measures in a focused and time-bound manner. The administration has already initiated measures to implement the scheme in the notified wards.
