Seniors duped us, say bank employees

Staff Reporter

Complain that officers took loans from their account faking signatures

GUNTUR: Twenty-five employees of Guntur Urban Cooperative Bank Limited approached the Police on Tuesday complaining that a few senior officials had taken personal loans and vehicle loans from the employees' accounts without their knowledge.

In a complaint, they alleged that the senior bank officials had taken these loans -- ranging from Rs.25,000 to Rs.50,000 -- on the employees' behalf, allegedly after forging their signatures. The loan amount was being deducted from the employees' salaries every month.

The employees also alleged that this practice had been going on for three years. A departmental enquiry was conducted but the findings did not see the light of the day, allegedly due to the pressure from senior officials. Arundulpet police have registered a case.
