BANGALORE: A house on Haines Road was burgled and articles and cash, in all Rs. 2 lakhs, were taken away on Monday. According to the police, Shabbir Ahmed had locked his house and gone to relative's place in B.T.M. Layout. When he returned around 10 p.m., he found that burglars had taken away Rs. 60,000 in cash and some gold ornaments.
Arrested
The Sriramapuram police have arrested two persons on the charge of selling pirated and pornographic film compact discs. The police recovered 3,500 compact discs from the shop of the accused near Sunrise Circle. The police gave the names of the accused as Firoz Babu (22) of Avalahalli and Raju (29) of Cha- marajpet. The accused were bringing the discs from a shop on S.P. Road, the police said.
Marijuana seized
The City Crime Branch police have arrested Akthar Afsar (25) on the charge of possessing and selling marijuana on J.C. Road. The police recovered 1.5 kg of marijuana worth Rs. 7,000 from him.
