Arun takes boys' under-19 boxing title

MADURAI: C. Arun of Al Ameen HSS (Madurai North) clinched the boys' under-19 (71-75 kg) title in the Madurai divisional schools' boxing competitions held at the MGR Race Course stadium here on Tuesday.

G.K. Motors posts win

G.K. Motors Hockey Club registered its second win in the three-team Pool A, defeating Ever Great Hockey Club, Vadipatti 3-2 in the Madurai District-level hockey league in Madurai on Wednesday. However both teams qualified for the semifinals.

John Paul, A.P. Vinod and Vaman scored for G.K. Motors. Chidambaram and Senthil scored for Ever Great HC.

Reserve Line Sports Club posted an emphatic 6-2 win over Dass Memorial Club in Pool B.

Kathiravan (2), Radhakrishnan, Dinesh, Ravi Varma and Ilango scored for RLSC. Dayalan and Damodharan netted for Dass memorial.

However Reserve Line Sports Club was held to a 2-2 draw by Thirunagar Hockey Club `A' in another tie. Dinesh and Radhakrishnan scored for RLSC while Rajasekaran and Sathya scored for Thirunagar Club. Both teams qualified for the semifinals.

Kabaddi meet

Tiruchi District Amateur Kadaddi Association, along with Sri Ragavendra Kabaddi Association and Southern Railway Padippaga Manram, will conduct the third district-level senior kabaddi meet for men and women at the Ponamalai ground (near Armoury Gate) on December 10 and 11.
