National highway alignment changed

CHENNAI: The Union Government has issued a notification modifying the alignment of a road that was upgraded as national highway in February.

As per the new route, the road, from Thanjavur on NH-67, connects Kumbakonam, Sethiathope, Neyveli Township, Vadalur, and Panruti and terminates near Vikravandi on NH-45. Under the earlier alignment, the road, starting from its junction with NH-67 near Thanjavur, connects Kumbakonam and Vriddhachalam, terminating at its junction with NH-45 near Ulundurpettai, says a release.
