Special trains for Ayyappa devotees
HYDERABAD:
South Central Railway will run weekly specials on the Vijayawada-Kottayam sector between December 14 and January 12, 2006, for the convenience of pilgrims to Sabarimala.
A press release said train no. 730 will leave Vijayawada at 2.45 p.m. on Wednesdays and reach Kottayam at 3.35 p.m. the next day. The train will run via New Guntur, Tenali, Nidubrolu, Bapatla, Chirala, Ongole, Kavali, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Tiruttani, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palghat, Ottapalam, Trichur, Alwaye and Ernakulam Town. On the return, train no. 729 will leave Kottayam at 11.20 p.m. on Thursdays and reach Vijayawada at 8.20 p.m. the next day.
