Belgaum: The police on Wednesday seized 156 litres of illicit liquor worth Rs. 3.50 lakhs and arrested two members of an inter-State gang involved in liquor smuggling in the region. G.M. Wali, Superintendent of Excise, said working on a tip-off, the raid party intercepted the vehicle transporting illicit liquor from Goa to Karnataka. The two accused were identified as Erappa Banda Davangere of Hubli and Mahadev Dattaram of Sawantwadi (Maharashtra).
