The advent of private players in telecommunication has fine-tuned the services of the `official communicator' Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. To create a rapport with its customers , the Tirunelveli Telecom District of BSNL has printed a 36-page booklet detailing all the services offered by the telecom giant, telephone numbers of railway stations, BSNL offices across the district, the Collectorate, gas suppliers, hospitals, blood banks, police stations, fire stations etc. in Tamil for the convenience of the people. This free booklet is available at all BSNL offices.
