Sensex posts modest gains

MUMBAI: After moving erratically, the Sensex on Thursday settled with a modest gain of 11 points at 8906.31 thanks to buying support from operators. The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark 30-share sensitive index dropped to the day's low of 8826.39 after initially rising to 8931.58. It bounced back at the fag end to close at 8906.31 against 8895.81, a net gain of 10.50 points or 0.12 per cent. — PTI
