DINDIGUL: A sum of Rs.2.45 lakhs was disbursed to relatives of seven victims who died in recent floods in the district. Minister for Transport R. Viswanathan met the relatives of the deceased at their residences in different parts of the district and handed over the cheques to them. The beneficiaries were family members of Mariammal in Senthurai near Natham, Arockiasamy of Periakulathupatti in Vedasandur, Muthiah of NGGO Colony, Dindigul, Chinnaraju of Govindasay Nagar, Palanisamy of Gnanandha Nagar, Arulanandham of Kuttathupatti and Sekar Raju of Sankarapuram in Nilakottai taluk. These beneficiaries had lost either a son, daughter or wife to the flood. Each received a cheque for Rs.35,000.
