Coimbatore: Innovation is the key to success in any business, said V.R. Muthu, Chief Executive Officer of Idhayam Group of Companies. Speaking at the inaugural function of the `Business Line Club' at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology here on Thursday, he said innovation and good marketing techniques were the two main factors that ensured success of a product in the market.
Product quality
However, the quality of the product was also equally important, he pointed out. "If the quality is good, customers will come back to you." He also stressed the importance of advertising. Advertising would popularise a good quality product in no time. But, it could sound the death knell of a product bereft of quality. Mr. Muthu narrated the success story of Mavali Tiffin Room, which started as a small business outlet in Bangalore and went on to become the most popular brand of ready-to-eat foods, MTR, worldwide. The `Business Line Club' would enable students to have interaction with the industry. They would get an opportunity to interact with corporate leaders and form an idea about the actual industry, said Dr. S. Subramaniam, Principal of the college.
