SSIs unhappy with Government attitude
Staff Reporter
KOCHI:
The Kerala State Small Industries Association has expressed its dissatisfaction over the non-redressal of its grievances pending for long.
In a statement, association president Xavier Thomas Kondody said the Government had not been able to implement the decisions taken six months ago by the Task Force committee comprising five Ministers including the Chief Minister.
The Kerala Government, through an interim order, had suspended the special consideration to the small-scale sector for store purchase as well as waiver of security deposit at the time of submission of tenders, he said.
Similar concessions were enjoyed by the SSI sector in many other States, he pointed out.
Mr. Kondody said CIDCO was unable to offer pattas (title deeds) to industrialists at the CIDCO industrial estates because of the restrictions imposed by Revenue Department.
He also accused the Forest Department of adopting an unfavourable attitude towards the SSIs.
