Protest against `move to merge SBT with SBI'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Bank of Travancore Staff Union (affiliated to the Bank Employees' Federation of India) organised a dharna before the zone office of the State Bank of Travancore (SBT) here on Thursday to express its protest against the "move to merge the bank with the State Bank of India."

The union said the demonstration was also to press the bank authorities to initiate steps to remove the glitches in the core banking system.
