Karunanidhi endorses call for all-party meeting

CHENNAI: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M. Karunanidhi on Thursday endorsed the call for an all-party meeting to discuss the flood situation in Tamil Nadu.

In his reply to a set of questions, Mr. Karunanidhi said his concern was whether it would be possible to disburse immediate relief in a proper manner with the help of officials alone. He said he endorsed the call for such a meeting made by CPI (M) state secretary N. Varadarajan.

Mr. Karunanidhi said he did not know theState Government had not come forward to form a State-level relief committee with representatives from all parties. He said the tsunami victims were yet to obtain relief in a proper manner.
