Awards for spastic society of Tamil Nadu
Chennai:
December 3, 2005 was not just another `International Day of the Disabled' for The Spastics Society Of Tamil Nadu (SPASTN).
It was a special day when children with disabilities, their families and staff won welcome recognition.
Thirteen-year-old P.Kavitha received the National Award for the Best Creative child, from President of India, A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, on the day.
In Chennai, the Tamil Nadu Government presented SPASTN with the State Award for `The Best Institution for Effectively Implementing the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan - Integrated Education Programme".
SPASTN was also awarded rolling shields for sports [Boys & Girls] and cultural events under the cerebral palsy category.
