`Fanoos' may bring more rain to Tamil Nadu
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
The cyclonic storm, `Fanoos,' formed over the southeast and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, has moved westward.
At 8-30 p.m. on Thursday, the storm lay centred 550 km east southeast of Chennai. The system is likely to intensify further and move in a westerly direction, according to a bulletin issued on Thursday evening.
Areas along the coast of Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh may experience fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rain from Friday morning. Strong wind at 60-70 km per hour is likely to start from Friday morning along and off the coast.
The sea will become rough as the system comes nearer. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.
