Quota: status quo extended

HYDERABAD:
The status quo pertaining to the admissions made into educational institutions pursuant to the Government's decision to provide reservations for Muslims was extended by another three weeks on Thursday. The court struck down the Act providing for quota to Muslims in education and public employment sectors. The Government filed a petition seeking extension by another four weeks. The Bench did not appreciate the filing of such petition. However, after much persuasion by the Advocate-General, the Bench granted three weeks' extension.
