Two die under mysterious circumstances

<167 4P>VIJAYAWADA: A watchman died under suspicious circumstances on the Drug Control Administration Officer's office premises late on Wednesday.

The Machavaram police said that Sampathi Venkaiah (54), a resident of Gunadala, was working as watchman at the office of the Drug Control Administration Officer.

He slept on the office premises after lighting a mosquito coil. The police suspected that his blanket caught fire after coming into contact with the burning coil. A case was registered.

In Kothapet, a 17-year-old girl died under suspicious circumstances on Thursday. The police said that D. Madhuri, daughter of Krishna Rao, a railway employee, was studying in KBN College.

On Thursday evening, family members of Madhuri found her body hanging from a ceiling fan in her room.

The police said that domestic problems might have the reason for her extreme step. A case was registered.

Body found

The railway police found the body of a 45-year-old man on the railway track near Bhaskararaopet Railway gate adjacent to Rajiv Park on Thursday.

The body was mutilated beyond recognition. The police found green-coloured shirt and checks lungi on the body. A case was registered and the body was shifted to railway hospital.
