HUBLI: Three wagons of a goods train derailed in the Hubli Yard on Friday afternoon. A few passenger train services were affected. According to sources, the derailment occurred at around 2.30 p.m. when a goods train from Salem with 40 wagons loaded with cement bags entered the Hubli Yard from the Gadag side. As a result, the main line leading to Gadag was affected, and the Kanaginhal-Hubli Passenger (No. 357) did not run between Gadag and Hubli. The Hubli-Dharwad passenger train (No. 365) and the Dharwad-Gadag passenger train (No. 366) were cancelled. Because of the accident, the departure of another train was delayed by one hour. This is the second time in the past fortnight that a derailment has occurred in the Hubli yard. On November 29, the Bellary-Hubli Passenger derailed in the yard.
