Two held under Goonda Act

HUBLI: The Hubli-Dharwad Police have arrested two persons under the Goonda Act and sent them to Gulbarga District Prison. The names of the arrested have been given as Narayansa Gurunathsa Pawar, a resident of Aralikatti Oni, Hubli, and Sanjiv Ambasa Kalal, a resident of Madanshetti Oni, Dharwad.

Narayan Nadamani, Police Commissioner, Hubli-Dharwad, issued an order for the arrest of Narayansa's arrest under the Goonda Act on Friday. The order for Sanjiv's arrest was issued on Thursday.

In a release, the Police Commissioner has said that Narayansa was involved in manufacturing illicit liquor, its sale and transport since three years. Sanjiv, a matka bookie, was involved in criminal activities with 14 cases against him.
