Isolated heavy rain likely in north coastal T.N. CHENNAI: The cyclonic storm over southwest Bay of Bengal moved slightly westwards and lies centred at 08-30 hrs IST of 09th December at about 350 kilometres east of Nagapattinam.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a west northwesterly direction and cross Tamil Nadu coast between Chennai and Nagapattinam by tomorrow noon the 10th December, 2005.

Adilabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 8{+o} Celsius in the plains of the region.

Forecast (Valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and at a few places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Lakshadweep, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur over north coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry during next 48 hours.

Isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over south coastal Tamil Nadu during the same period.

Gale Warning: Gale force wind speed reaching 70-80 kmph likely to commence along and off north coastal Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry from the afternoon of today the 9th December 2005.
