Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM : Assistant Public Prosecutor T. Ram Mohan Das was injured in a grenade attack at his house in Kotha Agraharam in Vizianagaram town around 11.30 p.m. on Thursday.

Talking to mediapersons from his hospital bed on Friday, Mr. Das said some unidentified persons lobbed a grenade from outside the compound wall when he was in the house. The sharpnels hit him in his legs and face causing bleeding injuries. He was immediately rushed to a private nursing home where he was recovering. He suspected the involvement of certain inter-State gang accused in criminal cases which he was dealing with.

Superintendent of Police Bhavana Saxena said that no clue was left by the offender. The grenade bore official marking of a factory, she said, and added that investigation was on as to how the grenade reached the hands of an offender.
