R. Sujatha
SEASON'S CHOICE: Sudha Raghunathan at Music World's annual sale on Friday.
CHENNAI: At this sale there is one for everyone. You can find a CD on teaching Sanskrit slokas to your granddaughter. You can find collections of Charlie Chaplin classics or Laurel and Hardy. You can teach your child about Anaconda with Animal Planet's Anaconda. There is also Discovery Channel's Unsolved History of Diana. Perhaps you want to gift Ramayana to your grandmother? The collection is priced at Rs. 3,050. Just walk into Music World Entertainment's sale being held at Chettiar Hall in Alwarpet. The sale is open for 10 hours everyday up to 9 p.m. until January 2. Music World is a retail chain of RPG Enterprises group. CDs, VCDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs and an album collection featuring singers from across the country are available. Enjoy your favourite singer, player, dance or movie without stepping out into the slushy road this kutcheri season. All Carnatic classical pre-recorded cassettes and CDs are available at 20 per cent discount. CD cleaning machines to repair scratches in audio CDs or VCDs are also available. Hyundai Electronics and World Space Music have opened stalls at the exhibition. Fewer cassettes have been stocked this time because of the poor response last year, says S.K. Chowdhury, chief executive officer of the company. If you want to send CDs to your friend place orders at the exhibition. The company will send them to your friend, says Sanjay Gupta, GM-operations and marketing. A whole range of film songs in Hindi and Tamil, semi-classical and other regional language renditions are available. The company also undertakes orders for editions that are still "under publication but are not available in stores in Chennai." Vocalist Sudha Raghunathan inaugurated the sale on Friday.
