KOLKATA : Jadavpur University utilised the home advantage to upset strong Madras University 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the all-India inter-university (women) tennis here at BTA Complex on Friday. Madras University, the bronze winner last year, saw its two players Vandana Murali and K. Swastika falling against the Jadavpur combination of Ragini Vimal and Rohini Das in a best-of-five match tie. The other universities moving into the semifinals were Punjab University, University of Mumbai and N.T.R University of Health and Science, Vijayawada. The results: Quarterfinals: Jadavpur Univerity bt Madras University 3-1; Punjab Univerity bt Visveswarya Technical University 3-0; University of Mumbai bt Osmania University 3-1; N.T.R University of Health and Science bt G.N.D University 3-2.
