Subash, Anjana adjudged the best

KUNNAMKULAM: Ernakulam's Central Excise star Subash Shenoy and Thiruvananthapuram's S.S. Anjana were adjudged the best players in the men's and women's sections, respectively, in the 50th Sheenlac State senior basketball championships, which concluded here on Thursday. The two were awarded the P.S. Viswappan memorial gold medals.

Thiruvananthapuram's Bobit Mathew and Kannur's M. Beena were picked for the Feasto gold medal 2005 in the men's and women's sections, while M. Anoop (Thiruvananthapuram) and Deepa Mathew (Kannur) were selected as the most promising players and given the Parameswaran Pillai cash award.

Former India captains Unwin Antony and Leelamma Thomas were adjudged as the Kerala Basketball Association's best players of the last fifty years and given special mementoes. — Principal Correspondent
