KPCC gives rebels a couple of days to withdraw Campaign coordination committees formed
BANGALORE:
The Congress has decided to expel rebel candidates contesting the zilla and taluk panchayat elections to be held on December 19 and 23.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President M. Mallikarjun Kharge told presspersons here on Friday that the party will not tolerate anti-party activities and the rebel candidates will be expelled from the party if they fail to withdraw.
The KPCC has constituted campaign coordination committees division-wise. Veeranna Mathikatti, MLC and KPCC General Secretary, has been appointed coordinator for Gulbarga division; K.J. George, KPCC General Secretary, for Mysore division; Kenche Gowda, KPCC General Secretary, for Bangalore division; and Prakash Rathod, MLC and KPCC General Secretary, for Belgaum division.
Official KPCC spokespersons for the elections are B.K. Chandrashekar, former Minister and MLC; V.S. Ugrappa, MLC; L. Hanumanthaiah, MLC; M. Ramachandrappa, KPCC General Secretary; and Mohan Kondaji.
