Consecration of Bishop House in Adoor today

PATHANAMTHITTA: The consecration of the newly constructed Hermon Bishop House at the headquarters of the Adoor diocese of Malankara Mar Thoma Church will be held on Saturday.

Mar Thoma Metropolitan Philipose Mar Chrysostom and Joseph Mar Irenaeus Saffragan Metropolitan will lead the consecration ceremony, which will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The Bishop House has been built at a cost of Rs.30 lakhs.

A public meeting will be held as part of the inauguration of the Bishop House later. Mar Chrysostom will inaugurate the meeting.

Mar Irenaeus, Minister for Water Resources Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Adoor Prakash, P.J. Kurien and Chengara Surendran, MPs, Adoor municipal chairperson Annamma Abraham, Church secretary K.M. Mammen and Vicar General P.P. Abraham will also address the function.

The Adoor diocese of Mar Thoma Church has 118 parishes attached to eight centres under it in Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Kollam districts, besides two overseas centres in Bahrain and Muscat.
