THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI national secretary D. Raja has called for forging a common platform of various interest groups to fight globalisation. Speaking at a symposium on `Globalisation and the struggle for Socialism,' organised in connection with the second International Congress on Kerala Studies that got under way here on Friday, Mr. Raja said some of the common themes on which such a common platform could be built are regional and global peace, social justice that ensures development, generates employment and curbs poverty and a concern for the environment. While striving for unity on these themes, it must also be recognised that the ways of realising socialism would vary according to the situation in each country, he pointed out.
