Staff Reporter THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Railways will run special trains in the Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central-Thiruvananthaputram stretch between December 22 and January next to clear the rush of passengers during the Christmas season. The 632 Thiruvananthapruam-Chennai Central special will leave from Thiruvananthapuram at 7.45 p.m. on December 24, 26 and 30 to arrive at Chennai Central at 12.45 noon the next day, according to the railways. In the return direction, the 631 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram special will leave Chennai Central at 4 p.m. on December 23, 25, 27 and 29 to arrive at Thiruvananthapuram central at 7.30 a.m. the next day. The 631 and 632 specials will have stops at Kollam, Kayamkulam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Arakkonam railway stations. The 632 special will stop at Perambur also. The composition of the special trains will be one AC 2 Tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The 634 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central special will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 5.30 p.m. on December 22, 28 and will arrive at Chennai Central at 10.15 a.m. the next day. The 633 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram special will leave Chennai Central at 5 p.m. on December 31 to reach Thiruvananthapuram at 9.45 a.m. on January 1, 2006. The 633/634 special trains will stop at Kollam, Kayamkulam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Arakkonam railway stations. The 634 special will stop at Perambur also. The trains will have a composition of one Ac 2-Tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 Luagge-cum-brake van coaches. The advance reservation for the special trains has commenced on December 9.
Extra services
The Railways will run weekly special trains on the Vijayawada-Kottayam-Vijayawada stretch from December 14 to January 11 to clear the rush of Ayyappa pilgrims. According to Railways, the 730 Vijayawada-Kottayam weekly Special would begin services on December 14. The last service will be on January 11, 2006. In the return direction, the 729 Kottayam-Vijayawada weekly Special will begin services on December 15 and the last service from Kottayam would be on January 12. The 730 special train would leave Vijayawada at 2.45 p.m. on Wednesdays to reach Kottayam at 3.45 p.m. the next day. The 729 special, in the return direction, will leave Kottayam at 11.15 p.m. on Thursdays to reach Kottayam at 10.20 p.m. the next day. The train will run via Ongole, Gudur, Katpadi, Salem and Ernakulam Town. The special trains will have stoppages at Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottapalam, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Tiruttani, Renigunta, Gudur, Nellore, Kavali, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Nidrubolu, Tenali and New Guntur
