JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Thursday announced establishment of "Kisan Bhawans" in all the divisional headquarter towns of the State. The Bhawans, apart from providing rooms and dormitory facilities to the farmers coming to the towns from the rural areas, would also impart information and training in latest farm techniques, she said. Speaking on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the first "Kisan Bhawan" in the State here, Ms. Raje said such centres would bring various aspects related to farming and agricultural marketing under one roof. The "Kisan Bhawan" at Jaipur, proposed in an area of 2480 sq metres in the Lal Kothi Scheme on Tonk Road, will have five storeys and cost Rs.5.5 crores. It is expected to be ready by March 2007. Ms. Raje said the next "Kisan Bhawan" would be built in Jodhpur while the rest of such centres, being modelled after the ones in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, would come up in the next three years. She stressed the need for farmers to adopt IT to keep themselves updated with the international trends in agriculture. Agriculture Minister Prabulal Saini said the "Kisan Bhawan" at Jaipur would provide accommodation to 100 farmers at a time.
