CHANDIGARH: Top dignitaries from India and Pakistan, including President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, will be here on Saturday to take part in the golden jubilee celebrations of the Punjab and Haryana High Court which shifted from Shimla to Chandigarh in 1955. Delegations from Pakistan consisting of advocates, legal luminaries, nine sitting Judges of the Lahore High Court including the Chief Justice, Khawaja Mohammad Sharif, have already started arriving here. The Chief Justice of India, the Governors of Punjab and Haryana, the Union Law Minister and the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court are likely to address the function besides the President. The Chief Ministers of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab are also expected to grace the occasion besides Judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice and Judges of Delhi and Himachal Pradesh High Courts, Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and retired judges of the Supreme Court and the High Courts. Over 4,000 people would be able to watch the proceedings on four giant screens.
