KARIMNAGAR: The District Congress Committee has made elaborate arrangements in Karimnagar town for the felicitation of Markfed Chairman Ponnam Prabhakar at the Revenue Gardens here on Saturday afternoon. On the first visit to his native district after assuming office as Markfed Chairman, the Congress leaders and Mr. Prabhakar's friends put up huge banners, posters, flexi banners and arches to welcome him. Right from the district border of Shanigaram to Karimnagar covering a distance of 45 km, the party leaders erected arches and banners hailing the leadership of the former NSUI State president. Ministers M. Satyanarayana Rao and Md. Fareeduddin, G. Venkat Swamy, MP, Government Whip D. Sridhar, MLAs T. Jeevan Reddy, J. Ratnakara Rao and K. Ramulu ZP chairman K. V. Rajeshwara Rao and others would participate in the felicitation programme. Mr. Prabhakar would be received at the district border and a vehicle rally would be taken out from Shanigaram village to Karimnagar town. In the Karimnagar, the rally would traverse through all the important streets wherein Mr. Prabhakar would travel in an open top jeep. Mr. Prabhakar is the third person from the district to occupy the Markfed Chairman post after former legislators V. Jagapathi Rao and K. Mrutyunjayam.
