Rs. 5.67 lakhs stolen from car

An amount of Rs. 5.67 lakhs was allegedly stolen from a realtor T. Sudhakar's car during daytime on Friday. Sudhakar had gone to a cloth store in Himayathnagar to make some purchases, when the driver approached him saying someone had stolen the suitcase containing cash. As all windows in the car except the one beside the driver's seat were closed, the police are questioning the driver..

Girl escapes rape bid

An unidentified person allegedly attempted to rape a 12-year-old girl after taking her to an isolated place at Bhavaninagar on Thursday saying her father had called her. The girl told the police that she managed to escape after hitting the man with a boulder.

Jewellery shop worker held

The Panjagutta police on Friday arrested a worker of Shermal Jain jewellery shop, Chandrashekhar, who allegedly disappeared with Rs. 3.85 lakh worth jewellery on Thursday. The stolen jewellery was recovered intact.
