Monica Bedi's remand extended
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The judicial remand of Monica Bedi, the companion of underworld don, Abu Salem, has been extended till Monday.
It had expired on Friday but the Special Judge for CBI cases, C.V. Subrahmanyam, was unavailable as he and the Acting Judge, Chakrapani, were on leave. Another judge through video-conferencing spoke to Monica Bedi from Chanchalguda jail and extended her remand.
As a result, orders on the bail petition moved on behalf of Bedi and the job of collecting her specimen signatures for the purpose of tallying them with the ones used for securing fake passports were also reserved till Monday.
The judge also reserved the orders on a memo filed by Bedi's counsel, Pradeep Kumar, seeking to reopen the bail petition.
