Election petition dismissed
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The Karnataka High Court on Friday dismissed an election petition against Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh.
The petition was filed by Shivalingappa Patil Naribol, who had contested against Mr. Dharam Singh in the April 2004 Assembly election from Jewargi in Gulbarga.
Mr. Naribol had alleged that Mr. Dharam Singh had indulged in corrupt practices to win from the constituency. He had moved the court against Mr. Dharam Singh's election.
Mr. Naribol died in January 2005. Thereafter, in February, the High Court had issued a notification calling upon anyone interested to continue the petition. However, nobody had come forward to "abet" the petition.
