Three commit suicide

BANGALORE: A couple and their three-year-old daughter committed suicide by consuming cyanide at their house in Sriramapuram police station limits on Thursday night.

The police gave their names as Arun (35), his wife Malavathi (30) and their daughter Harshitha. Arun, who worked in a jewellery shop in Chickpet, was reportedly in debts. The family was residing on 4th Cross, Nagappa Block, the police said.

Girl ends life

Narayanamma (15), an eighth standard student, committed suicide by hanging herself at her house at Monekolalu in HAL police station limits on Thursday night.

The police said the reason for the suicide was not known.

Man murdered

Venkatesh (37), a waterman with the Mahadevapura City Municipal Council, who was allegedly stabbed by a cook on December 6, died at a hospital on Thursday night.

Gopal, a cook at a hotel, had allegedly stabbed Venkatesh suspecting that he had an affair with his wife, the police said. The Mahadevapura police have arrested Gopal.
