KADAPA: The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) will conduct a two-day State-level 13th Children's Science Congress at St. Joseph Junior College here from December 11. One hundred and seventy two projects were chosen for presentation in Kadapa, from among those presented in 23 districts during October and November, Project Director of APCOST G. Sailu told newsmen here on Saturday. Of the 172 projects, 30 would be selected for presentation in the National-level Science Congress slated at Bhubaneswar from December 27 to 31, he said. President Abdul Kalam would address and interact with school students at the Science Congress, he added.
Theme of the year
Harness water resources for a better future' was this year's theme and students could also prepare projects on six sub-themes - understanding hydrological cycle in the local context, water harvesting, conservation and storage, water, ecosystems and biodiversity, water needs, efficient use and economy, water and health and water for transportation and recreation, Project Officer Nagesh said.
