KANNUR: The Kerala NGO Sangh (KNGOS) has said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's statement that the Government will soon implement pay revision in Government services and pay dearness allowance arrears is lacking in seriousness. The KNGOS State office-bearers meeting held here ahead of the State conference that concluded here on Saturday assessed that the Government was prepared to appoint a pay commission only when Government service organisations announced agitation in protest against its failure to merge 50 per cent of DA with basic salary even after the Central Government had implemented it. The pay commission had been allowed staff and office three months after it was constituted, the KNGOS alleged. The KNGOS State office-bearers meeting also suspected conspiracy by the Government and the commission to delay the commission report.
Talks inconclusive
The commission which had collected memorandums from the service organisations was yet to complete talks with them. The Chief Minister was just making announcements without releasing funds for paying four DA arrears instalments, the meeting evaluated. The conference was inaugurated by High Court senior advocate K. Ramkumar. KNGOS president M.S. Shyamkumar presided. Bharatiya Mazdur Sangh all-India secretary K. Lakshmi Reddy, Bhagyasheelan Chalad and K.K. Balaram were among those present at the inaugural session. Earlier, delegates took out a demonstration in the town.
