Chamarajanagar: Faizulla Baig Junaidi, president of Karnataka State Urdu Teachers' Association, has alleged that the Government has neglected Urdu education in the State. Speaking to presspersons at Kollegal on Saturday, he said the State Government has not extended the EDUSAT programme to Urdu medium schools in the State. There are no Urdu anganwadis among the 45,000 anganwadis in the State. Dr. Junaidi said Urdu teachers have not been trained to conduct trimester examinations. He alleged that the State Government has also stopped considering Urdu teachers for awards. A district-level Urdu Educational Conference was organised to discuss the status of Urdu language by Moulana Azad Education and Welfare Association at Gurubhavan in Kollegal.
Felicitated
Students who have scored high marks in Urdu were felicitated. Director of Public Instruction (Minorities) Kuttino and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary (Minorities) Gulshanji were present.
