Isolated heavy rain likely in south T.N.

CHENNAI: The cyclonic storm over southwest Bay of Bengal moved rapidly westwards and weakened into a deep depression and crossed coast near Vedaranyam at 11-00 hours IST of 10th December 2005.

Under its influence Northeast monsoon has been active over coastal Tamil Nadu.

Rainfall occurred at many places over coastal Tamil Nadu and at a few places over interior Tamil Nadu. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Dry weather prevailed over Telangana, Lakshadweep, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Forecast (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over north coastal Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala and at a few places over north interior Tamil Nadu, north Kerala and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka..
