PATHANAMTHITTA: The International Congress on Kerala Studies (ICKS), organised by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Thiruvananthapuram, was nothing but a mockery of the word `development', Indian Youth Congress (IYC) State general secretary Sunil P. Oommen. In a statement here on Saturday, Mr. Sunil said the CPI(M), which had been torpedoing various development projects launched by the United Democratic Front Government during the past four-and-a-half years by levelling baseless charges, had no moral right to talk about development. He alleged that the CPI(M)-sponsored development meet was nothing but "publicity gimmick." Mr. Sunil also sought an apology from the CPI(M) leadership for ``sabotaging'' various development projects launched by the UDF Government.
