Adilabad: MP T. Madhusudan Reddy urged the Adilabad municipality to pass a resolution seeking 50 per cent contribution from the State Government for construction of a railway overbridge. He said once the State Government agreed to contribute the money, the Railways would start the work putting its share of 50 per cent.
Time frame
Inaugurating works on roads in the town along with Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy and municipal chairman Digambar Rao Patil on Saturday, the MP promised to complete the railway overbridge at the manned level crossing in three years once the State Government sanctions funds. The road works at Shantinagar, Housing Board and Bhuktapur localities were taken up at a cost of about Rs. 10 lakhs each. The total sanctioned amount for internal roads in town is Rs. 2.37 crores, according to Mr. Digambaro Rao Patil. The three leaders said the roads being laid at present were in a very bad shape and needed urgent attention.
