KOCHI: As many as 163 traffic police personnel were given training in various aspects related to traffic management at a workshop here on Saturday. K. Padmakumar, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Ernakulam Range, inaugurated the two-day workshop, organised by the city police, at Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute hall. City Police Commissioner P. Vijayan; Martin K. Mathew, Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch; K.E. Joy, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic-East); T.M. Jamaludeen, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic-West); S. Sasikumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Thrikakkara); Thomas George, former Superintendent of Police; and Sasikumar, Chief Security Officer, Kochi Refineries Ltd., led classes on various subjects. Select sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, head constables and constables from both wings of the traffic section attended the workshop. Another batch of an equal strength will attend the workshop on Sunday. The workshop was organised as part of the ongoing Accident Prevention Fortnight.
