Talk on productivity

Kochi: The Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Kerala Management Association, together with Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT), will organise an evening meeting with Ashok K. Lahiri, Chief Economic Advisor to Union Finance Ministry, on Friday. The meeting will be held at the Management House, Panampally Nagar, at 6.30 p.m. Dr. Lahiri will speak on the "Role of productivity growth in India's development," says a press release here. — Staff Reporter

Round-the-clock train services sought

Kochi: The Kerala State Consumer Welfare Association, based in Aluva, has demanded that round-the-clock push-pull train services from Ernakulam to Thrissur and Kottayam be introduced. The demand was raised in a memorandum submitted by association president Mathew Paul to Southern Railway Manager Varghese Thomas, says a press release here.

Human chain

Kochi: The All-Kerala Private College Teachers' Association has appealed to college teachers to join a human chain on Tuesday, when the sixth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organisation begins in Hong Kong. The chain will be formed in all district headquarters in the State, says a press release here.

Multimedia course

Kochi: A four-month advanced multimedia course will be conducted from January by the Kerala State Audiovisual and Reprographic Centre. The minimum qualification is a pass in SSLC. Those interested in joining the course may call 0484-240 0196 for details, says a press release here.
