X'mas celebrations conclude today

The twin cities Christmas Celebrations 2005 being organised at Polo Grounds, Secunderabad, will conclude on Sunday with special Christmas carols, cultural and entertainment programmes.

Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy would participate in the celebrations as chief guest.

The celebrations began on Friday with Jesus Calls Ministries Founders D.G.S.Paul Dhinakaran and Paul Dhinakaran of Chennai delivering the message of peace on Saturday and blessed the people in the name of Lord Jesus Christ. - Staff Reporter

Mulk Raj Anand

The Department of English, Osmania University, in association with the Indian Association for Commonwealth Literature, is organising an international seminar on `Mulk Raj Anand and Early Indian Novel in English' from Sunday.

The three-day seminar will be inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Mohd.Suleman Siddiqi at 11 a.m at PGRRCDE, OU.

The plenary speakers include Meenakshi Mukherjee, M.Sivaramakrishna, Alastair Niven and Dieter Riemenschenider besides presentation of papers by scholars from India and abroad. December 12 marks the birth centenary of Anand, according to a release. - Staff Reporter
