NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old doctor, pursuing his post-graduation in anatomy at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, was found dead under highly mysterious circumstances at his Gautam Nagar residence in South Delhi on Saturday. The police said they were awaiting the post-mortem report to establish the cause of death. Brajesh Kumar of Alwar in Rajasthan was a first year post-graduate student. It is learnt that on Saturday, he appeared for an internal examination and later met some friends. He had tea with them before leaving for his Gautam Nagar rented accommodation. Late on Saturday night, his room-mate, Amit Kumar, found him lying in an unconscious state. Amit first tried to revive him, failing which he rushed him to AIIMS where he was declared dead on arrival. The hospital authorities informed the police at around 1 a.m. According to the police, there were no external injuries on Brajesh's body. "We have so far not come across any evidence suggesting that he took his own life. The viscera report in this regard is still awaited," said a senior police officer, adding that the initial report by doctors indicated that Brajesh had probably died due to an internal haemorrhage. While Brajesh's parents have been informed, the police have initiated inquest proceedings in the matter.
