Ministerial staff go on mass leave

Pondicherry: Ministerial staff in Pondicherry government departments went on mass leave on Monday in response to a call given by the Joint Action Committee of Employees.

The committee, comprising the Confederation, the Central Federation and the Federation of Associations of State Government Employees, seeks upgrading of posts of lower division clerks, amalgamation of posts of Superintendents Grades I and II in government departments, parity of pay structure of assistants with those in Central services. The agitating employees held a demonstration in Bharathi Park.
