DMK Trust donates Rs. 25 lakhs to Chief Minister's relief fund

CHENNAI:
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Charitable Trust on Monday donated Rs. 25 lakhs to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
DMK general secretary K. Anbazhagan handed over the cheque to Governor Surjit Singh Barnala at Raj Bhavan.
He also handed over a letter from the Trust's founder and Managing Trustee M. Karunanidhi.
In the letter, a copy of which was released to the Press, Mr. Karunanidhi said he was "greatly concerned" at the huge destruction caused by the unprecedented rain and floods in the State. "As a token of our concern, the DMK Charitable Trust is contributing Rs.25 lakhs to the Chief Minister's Public relief Fund towards the relief measures to be undertaken by the Government of Tamil Nadu for the rain affected people."
