Students refuse to take food in protest against bad quality rice; matron's husband held
|
KHAMMAM:
At least 30 students of the Sathupalli ST girls' hostel were taken ill on Monday. The students who have declined to take food from the hostel mess for the past two days fell unconscious during school hours. They were shifted to the hospital immediately. Though the students had complained about the quality of rice, the matron allegedly remained unmindful of the complaint.
They lodged their protest by staying away from the mess. Some of the children were given iron tablets on Sunday. They fainted one after the other in their classrooms.
